Description
The evolution of topological charge in Lattice QCD simulations performed close to the continuum limit is subject to a well-known critical slowing down, as an effect of the emerging of a well-defined decomposition of the configuration space in terms of "topological sectors", not connected by continuous deformation of the fields. Understanding and removing the systematic errors induced by the ergodicity breaking is of vital importance to improve the reliability of modern lattice simulations. In this talk I will show that Metadynamics algorithm can be used to accelerate the evolution of the topological charge in CP(N-1) models, overcoming the problem in an efficient way that can be easily generalised to QCD.
