The ILC project - Its Physics and Status

The discovery of Higgs and the completion of the ILC technical design report as well as the interest expressed by Japan to host have propelled the ILC project by a significant step. We overview its physics capabilities and its role in this new era of particle physics, and review current status of the efforts toward its realization.
