    I will review some recent activities in mesonic chiral perturbation theory. Our present knowledge of low-energy constants in the strong sector up to and including next-to-next- to-leading order will be discussed. I will also assess the present status of CKM unitarity. Further topics are pion polarizabilities, kaon and η decays.
