Every year, the ISAPP European network organizes doctoral schools addressed to students - theorists, experimentalists and observers - in the astroparticle physics domain.
This school is organized by the University of Torino and by the Torino branches of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) and of the Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF), with the help of the Consorzio Interuniversitario di Fisica Spaziale (CIFS). It will be held in the beautiful small village of Belgirate, located in front of the Lago Maggiore and surrounded by the Alps scenario.
The school is dedicated to the multi-messenger and multi-wavelength approach to the indirect search for dark matter in the Universe. The first week of lectures will cover introductory courses on particle physics, particle cosmology and astrophysical processes relevant for dark matter studies. The second week will deal with more advanced courses on the full range of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger signals of dark matter. The courses will cover both the theoretical/phenomenological and experimental/observational aspects, in order to give an exhaustive overview of this complex field. The program will be complemented by a seminar on the current status of gravitational waves physics.
The schedule is organized in slots of 1.5 hours lectures (intended as 75 min of teaching, followed by 15 min of discussion with the students). Discussion sessions, placed at the end of most of the lecture days, are further devoted to stimulate dialogue between students and teachers.
Students are encouraged to bring posters presenting their research work: a dedicated sessions will be organized for the posters to be presented and discussed.
The School is addressed to PhD students and post-docs working in the field of dark matter, particle physics, high energy astrophysics and astroparticle physics in general. Also last-year Master degree students, involved in the preparation of their thesis, can proficiently attend the lectures. A letter from each registrant's advisor is required to finalize the registration process. Attendance is limited to 50 participants.
