Optimization studies and error budget for the ESRF upgrade lattice

The ESRF upgrade lattice is designed to provide an horizontal emittance of 150 pm rad. This allows to achieve higher brilliance and coherence for the photon beams. Using Accelerator Toolbox, the dipole field distribution, the optical functions and of the detuning with amplitude and momentum are optimized to achieve lower horizontal emittance and larger dynamic apertures. A detailed study on the influence of imperfections on the dynamic aperture and emittance will also be shown.
