Guideline for the authors

Authors of the Proceedings papers should follow the instructions that can be found at the following link:

http://en.sif.it/books/series/conferenceproceedings/information

Using the LaTeX package downloadable from this page and strictly adhering the template, at least as far as the presentation of the first page and of the references is concerned, will harmonize the final layout of the book.
The standards listed under the section “Main Text” are highly recommended, note anyway that we shall print your final text as it is, with no further editing.
Keep special attention to quote all figures, tables and references in the right numerical order , and if you use A), B), etc. to identify different parts of a figure in the text and caption, make sure that A), B), etc. do appear in the figure itself (otherwise notations like: left, right or top, bottom are a better choice).  Side-by-side pagination of figures with different numbers must be avoided .

To ensure printability of your figures there are a few rules you should stick strictly to:
• if you use colours, please avoid light yellow, green and blue that normally disappear in B/W;
• make sure that the lines (especially the boundary lines) be never below 0.3 pt width;
• to create the .eps file carefully follow the instruction listed in the “Figures” section of the style guide.
Figure files should not exceed 10MB in size each; the recommended format is .eps.
Note that, unless otherwise agreed, figures will be printed in B/W: remember not to make reference to colours in the text or captions (use light gray, dark gray, black, instead).
Remember that the final quality of illustrations depends on the quality of the original artwork. We normally use figures as submitted, it is therefore the author responsibility to ensure that they are legible and technically correct, by following strictly the criteria listed in the style guide.

How to prepare the files:
• use lower case letters only in your file names;
• for each contribution make a compressed archive of your files, including
◦ the .tex source file of the paper (note that the .tex file name must be exactly the same as the directory which contains it);
◦ a .pdf file of the paper which should exactly match the source file;
◦ the .eps files of the figures (please add a list of file names, always in lower case, if different than fig01, fig02, etc.)
• please avoid including unnecessary files, such as .log, .aux, etc.
