Description
The e+e- Super-KEKB collider and Belle-II experiment are major upgrades of KEKB and Belle-II designed to reach the peak luminosity of 8x10^35 cm-2 s-1 at the Y(4s) resonance with a start of data taking in 2016 and a planned integrated luminosity of 50ab-1.
The large data set will open new windows on physics beyond the standard model, made accesible through precision measurements of rare decays, interference effects, and lepton-flavour violating decays.
The seminar will present the physics program and the detector issues of the Belle-II experiment and discuss the possible participation of italian institutions and in particular of Pisa.
