Description
About sales, fracking and non linear waves. In recent
times the troubles in petroleum producing countries raised serious
worries in USA, about energy production perspectives and the nuclear
option was gaining supporters. All this changed once some technical
improvements in oil drilling and fracking, and the increase of oil
prices, allowed a new option, namely extraction of huges quantities of
oil and gas from the swelling sales. So this become a new frontier of
extremely remarkable economic resources, with some ecological serious
problems. These can also be seen as a scientific challenge..I plan to
quickly describe the today situation and some scientific points, some
developments recently made in this Department, to determine stability
criteria for such deep oil drilling and fracking.
