Abstract:After a brief general introduction to the concept of emerging space, I will explain a general strategy to understand the emergence of additional dimensions of space in general Matrix Theories (like gauge theories) and explain how this strategy has been applied successfully in some string theory set-ups. I will also speculate on some possible generalizations, including to non-supersymmetric models.
