Extra-dimensional gauge theories on the lattice

Several interesting features emerge when considering gauge theories defined in more than four dimensions. A nonperturbative definition of these theories on a space-time lattice allows an investigation of their properties by numerical simulations. We discuss the lattice definition of extra dimensional theories, and present results on the phase diagram of the lattice model. Consequences for physical applications are considered.
