Strangeness in Low-Energy QCD and Dense Baryonic Matter

This presentation summarizes recent developments in the understanding of near-und sub-threshold antikaon interactions with nucleons and nuclei on the basis of chiral SU(3) effective field theory, the low-energy realization of QCD with light and strange quarks. Extrapolations to high baryon density wil be discussed , with special
emphasis on new constraints from the observation of massive neutron stars.
