Description
An extensive research on cosmic rays in the energy region between tens MeV/n and few TeV/n has been undertaken since the sixties by experiments on board stratospheric balloons, satellites and International Space Station. Search for primordial antimatter, dark matter signals and exotic particles is the major objective, as well as the study of the mechanisms of production, acceleration and propagation of cosmic rays. Other tasks include the monitoring of the cosmic ray solar modulation, the detection of solar flares and studies on the interaction of particles with the terrestrial magnetosphere. A review of the major results up to an energy of 1 TeV obtained by the previous and the current experiments, mainly PAMELA, will be presented in this seminary .
