- Gases are back in GIF++
- From next Monday (October 26th) it will be possible to resume source operation (with the caveat that from 28th to 30th October there will be the AUG test, hence source OFF and all systems OFF as well). Let's think about what to do on our side
- SiPM installation likely on November 6th and after that they will start the long period (30 days) always with source ON. We managed to get 2 hours source OFF every Wednesday for our weekly source OFF scan
- GIF++ Annual User Meeting on November 4th. Luca is working on the slides, he will circulate them ASAP (next Friday he is not available for the meeting)
- Informal chat with Giuseppe about the possibility of having flammable gases for aging
- It is in principle possible to do, in case we want to move forward with that we should inform them so that they can prepare on the GIF++ side
- Request flammable gases detection head (one per trolley as long as the detectors are close to each other and somehow the flow is directed towards it)
- Make the humidifier rack ATEX-rated (with gas group and safety approval)
- Fix HFO-1233zd bottle in a cleaner way (in general, also for non flammable mixtures)
- Be sure that the the RPC(s) we would like to use are gas tight and then request official inspection (as it was done for the test beam)
- In principle it would be fine on the GIF++-side if we possibly started with the flammable mixtures in Jan/Feb of 2027
- Install copper pipes all the way to the detector
- ALICE RPC -> gas tight
- EP-DT RPC and iRPC prototype -> Double check leaks
- LHCb/SHiP -> small leaks are known
What is needed for HFO-1233zd
- HFO-1233zd automatic shut-off valve + bypass to flush to ambient
- Heated pipes/heated tape
