DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Daniele Calzolari (CERN)\n\nMonte Carlo simulations 
 are a key tool in the design and operation of particle accelerators and de
 tectors. This seminar introduces FLUKA\, a general-purpose particle transp
 ort code widely used for radiation studies\, shielding design\, and detect
 or applications.\n \nAfter a brief overview of the underlying physics mod
 els\, the focus will shift to practical aspects of setting up and running 
 simulations in complex geometries and high-radiation environments. In part
 icular\, we will look at the evaluation of energy deposition\, particle fl
 uence\, and residual dose\, which are central to both performance studies 
 and radiation protection.\n \nSelected examples from accelerator applicat
 ions will be used to illustrate typical workflows\, from geometry implemen
 tation to data analysis. The seminar aims to provide a clear picture of FL
 UKA’s capabilities and how it can be effectively used in realistic simul
