DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Gianluca Inguglia (HEPHY)\n\nAbstract: \nSince the
first direct detection of gravitational waves in 2015\, gravitational-wave
astronomy has evolved into a precision probe of fundamental physics. In t
his talk\, I present a personal overview of the field at the intersection
of particle physics\, astrophysics\, cosmology\, and artificial intelligen
ce.\nI will first discuss a question rooted in particle physics: the origi
n of CP violation and the matter–antimatter asymmetry of the Universe. M
any viable baryogenesis scenarios predict first-order cosmological phase t
ransitions in the early Universe\, which would generate a stochastic gravi
tational-wave background potentially observable by next-generation detecto
rs. Gravitational-wave observatories thus offer a novel window onto physic
s beyond the Standard Model.\nI then review key results from the current L
IGO–Virgo–KAGRA network\, highlighting the most scientifically compell
ing detections and what population studies of compact binary mergers are r
evealing about black hole formation channels\, neutron-star structure\, an
d cosmic expansion.\nFinally\, I discuss the next generation of observator
ies\, including the Einstein Telescope\, and the increasingly central role
of artificial intelligence and machine learning\, from real-time signal d
etection to scalable parameter estimation\, in unlocking the full scientif
 ic potential of these instruments.\n \nCoordinate ZOOM\nhttps://infn-it.z
