 tions in the early universe leave a distinctive signature in the galaxy di
 stribution at later times. This feature provides a standard rod which can 
 be used to constrain the expansion history of the universe over the last t
 hirteen billion years. In practice\, the rod is usually standardized sligh
 tly.  I'll summarize recent constraints and how they can be tightened wit
