DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Belen Gavela (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid)\n\nAb
stract:  I will first recall the electroweak hierarchy problem\, as well
as the general concepts of naturalness and of near criticality of the Higg
s potential  as an alternative path to confront that problem.  Within th
e near-criticality framework\, the smallness of the Higgs mass may be a by
product of the metastability of the Higgs potential. Strong bounds on the
Higgs mass result in all generality provided there is new viable physics c
apable of lowering the scale at which the Higgs quartic coupling turns neg
ative.  The new physics scale is then be within reach of future experimen
ts including future colliders such as the FCC. As a concrete and ultraviol
et-complete realisation\, I will explore the low-scale Majoron model of ne
utrino masses\, although the Higgs mass bounds and predictions resulting f
rom ALP theories will also be briefly discussed.\n\n \n\nMeeting ID: 990
