 \n\nThis seminar is the tirteenth in a series of 13 seminars that Carlo Pa
 ganihas conducted over the past two years at the IASF (Institute of Applie
 d Science Facilities) in Shenzhen\, China. These seminars have been delive
 red both in person and remotely. The primary purpose of these seminars was
  to introduce a community of physicists\, engineers\, and technicians—ta
 sked with developing new large research infrastructures in the Greater Bay
  Area—to the concepts of linear and superconducting particle accelerator
 s. This included covering their history and evolution\, as well as address
 ing the challenges faced by similar projects.The intent behind repurposing
  this material is to provide a valuable resource for the members of the LA
 SA SRF group by placing their research work within a broader context. Addi
 tionally\, the seminars are now accessible to a wider and potentially inte
