Gravity, finite duality cascades and confinement

Description

One of the long-standing goals of holography is to identify weakly coupled gravitational backgrounds that are dual to quantum field theories exhibiting confinement, such as Yang–Mills theory and QCD. A well-known example is the Klebanov–Strassler model, which describes the renormalization group flow of a four-dimensional N=1 supersymmetric gauge theory leading to confinement. In this talk, I will present a closely related construction that aims to overcome some of the limitations of the Klebanov–Strassler model - particularly its non-standard UV behavior - and  provide a supergravity solution dual to the corresponding flow. I will highlight the main features of this solution and present several nontrivial checks of the proposed duality.
