The Great Impersonation: towards prototypical black-hole microstates and their signatures

Description
I will present a new class of soliton solutions in five-dimensional minimal supergravity that can be interpreted as microstate geometries of static, neutral, or charged spinning black holes. I will analyze their linear response and quasinormal mode spectrum, as well as their multipolar structure, and compare these features with those of the corresponding black holes and with current observational constraints.
