Description
The Large Hadron Collider is "simply" the largest research instrument ever built. From the very beginning, the CERN management opted for a very aggressive installation planning based on a just-in-time sequencing of all activities. The size andcomplexity of the LHC project required a strong co-ordination of all the installation works.
The installation planning took in account many constraints, such as the production rates, the installation contracts and the transport and handling requirements in a narrow tunnel with limited access points.
This lecture gives an overview of the LHC accelerator main ring project installation works, from the scheduling point of view.
