For your stay in Cagliari, we recommend booking accommodation in the city center, particularly in the Marina district. This lively and historic neighborhood offers a wide range of hotels, B&Bs, and guesthouses within walking distance of restaurants, cafés, and major attractions. Staying in this area will also provide easy access to the workshop venue and convenient connections to public transport.
To reach the Physics department from the city center (Marina district), we recommend using public transport:
You can take bus number 8 or 29 from Piazza Matteotti (near the main train station) or Largo Carlo Felice, and get off at the “Cittadella Universitaria” stop, just a short walk from the campus.
Alternatively, you can use the University Express (UEX) line, which connects the city center to the university campus in about 15 minutes, stopping near the Policlinico/Cittadella area.
A single ticket (valid for both bus and tram) costs about €2 and is valid for 90 minutes. A day pass is available for around €3. Tickets can be purchased at CTM points, newsstands, or via the CTM BusFinder app.
