Travel
The easiest way to reach Catania, if you are coming from outside Sicily, is probably by plane. Once you arrive at the Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, you can take the Alibus (ticket cost: €4), which runs frequently and offers a very convenient connection to the city, with several stops in the center of Catania. If you prefer a taxi, the fare from the airport to the city center is about €35. When booked through Radio Taxi, the fixed price is €22. Uber also operates efficiently in Catania.

Food in Catania
Catania has a vibrant food scene combining street food and traditional Sicilian cuisine. Local specialties include pasta alla Norma, arancini, and caponata. Around the Pescheria (fish market), you’ll find excellent seafood, while casual restaurants across the city often serve the local specialty of horse meat. Don’t miss Sicilian sweets such as cannoli, cassata, and granita with brioche. Vegetarian options are widely available.
