Award Competition
To recognise and encourage the contributions of the next generation of scientists, the 7th International Workshop on New Photon-Detectors (PD2025) will present three awards reserved for early-career researchers.
Best Talk Award
Awarded by TRIUMF for the most outstanding contributed oral presentation
Best Poster Award
Awarded by TRIUMF for the most engaging and impactful poster contribution
EPS Poster Prize
Awarded by the European Physical Society (EPS) to an outstanding PhD student poster presenter
Eligibility
The competition is open exclusively to early‑career researchers, defined as students (Bachelor, Master, or PhD students) or postdoctoral researchers who obtained their PhD within the past five years. Interruptions such as maternity or sick leave are not counted toward the five‑year period.
The EPS Poster Prize is strictly limited to PhD students, as defined by their student registration. The poster must be prepared by the student.
Awards
The winners will be announced during the Closing Session of the workshop and will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Workshop Chairs. Their names will also be highlighted on the PD2025 website and in the workshop proceedings.
In addition to the certificates
- the Best Talk Award and Best Poster Award winners will each receive a non-monetary prize, sponsored by TRIUMF
- the EPS Poster Prize winner will receive €200, offered by the European Physical Society
