Description

Gravitational wave (GW) emission from compact binaries has
traditionally been modeled using post-Newtonian (PN) methods.
In recent years, the post-Minkowskian (PM) framework has
gained significant traction for two main reasons. First, the
PM approximation is better suited for describing non-circular
binaries, which are expected to be detected more frequently
by future generations of GW detectors. Second, computational
techniques from quantum mechanics have been increasingly
applied to derive higher-order PM contributions. This talk
will present recent developments in GW modeling using PM
results, as well as the prospects for accurately describing
binaries on generic orbits, meeting the precision required
by future GW observatories.
