General comments Generally speaking, the HV splitter box should be close to the chamber, because producing extensions for the impacted cables is not so easy. We didn't know that, so some HV boxes must be moved closer. Most of the time, the best solution seems to look for a more suitable space on the spot. Sometimes, we will modify our supports to allow a closer placement of HV boxes. Sometime we foresee to move the BIL services where today there are BIS services. This will be for sure possible in LS3, when we will move all the BIS services, but probably we cannot move BIS boxes during YETS (BIS RO cables are now fixed to the BIS rails, and inaccessible without sliding BIL) To be decided on the spot what is best: either move BIL services anyways, if the final position is clear, or postpone the movement for the impacted boxes to LS3. The Pavia team plans to be at CERN to work on the services displacement during the following periods: - 2-6 Dec 2024 - 16-20 Dec 2024 - 13-17 Jan 2025 …and so on until the work is done... The work will start from Sector 13 (where trays were already installed during the last YETS) It is estimated that the work on sectors 3 and 5 will not start before January. Comments on specific chambers - Sector 3, BIL3 - HV box is too far. It seems reasonable to move it just below the ladder, rearranging our proposed boxes layout. To be arranged on the spot based on accessibility. - Sector 3, BIL4 - HV box is too far. We will enlarge the plate supporting the CSM, and this will be probably sufficient to host also the HV box. - Sector 5, BIL1 - HV box is too far. To be seen on the spot. For sure there is space around. Maybe on the side of the Z0 ladder, or maybe enlarging the existing trays. - Sector 5, BIL3 - HV box is too far. Can be moved closer, by switching it with the RASMUX. To be checked on the spot - Sector 5, BIL4 - HV box is too far. This location seems particularly complicated and crowded. A solution could be to move the box below the platforms, a bit further into the "badly accessible" area. It may be well reachable in reality. To be checked on the spot. - Sector 5, BIL6 - HV box is too far. We can easily extend our trays to give some more space closer to the chamber. This should solve the problem. - Sector 1, BIL1 and BIL2 – Movable chambers We will go on with the detailed design of our concept, and we will try to install it also during the coming YETS. Once installed we can check whether the cable length is enough to avoid the future RPC brackets, or whether we need to change something in the design. - Sector 13, BIL6 – Movable chamber This design is much more linked with the design of future BIS RPC brackets in this sector. Probably we will not have it ready for this YETS
