The conference will be held in Villa Vigoni, a center founded by the German Federal Republic and the Italian Republic with the aim to foster the relationships between Italy and Germany in the fields of scientific research, higher education and culture, in addition to their impact in the economy, in the society and in politics. The residence was acquired in 1829 by Heinrich Mylius and Luigia Vitali. The latter, young widow, married Ignazio Vigoni for her second marriage. Their grandson, who bore the same name of Luigia's husband, Ignazio Vigoni junior (1905-1983), bequeathed the property at Lake Como to the Federal Republic of Germany in order to “honour” the friendship of his ancestor Heinrich Mylius with Johann Wolfgang Goethe and Alessandro Manzoni and to keep the tradition of German-Italian relations alive, a purpose that the Association Villa Vigoni has been serving since that time.

By air:
The nearest airport to Villa Vigoni is Milan-Malpensa (80 minutes by car). A workshop bus will leave Malpensa Airport from Terminal 1 at 12.10. A car will leave also Malpensa airport from Terminal 1 at 14.00.
If you arrive in Milano Linate, please take the airport bus Linate-Malpensa in order to catch either the bus at 12.10 or the car at 14.00.
Alternatively to get to Villa Vigoni with public transport from Milan-Malpensa Airport, you can take a train from terminal to Como Lago (change in Saronno). Once in Como, you can take the bus C10 to Menaggio. Otherwise, you can take the boat service from Como.

By train
From Milano Centrale, you can reach by train Como San Giovanni. Then, you can reach Menaggio with public transport.
