Summary

The National inspectorate for nuclear safety and radiation protection (ISIN) represents the Italian competent regulatory authority responsible for nuclear safety and radiation protection in accordance with the European Directive 2009/71/Euratom and 2011/70/Euratom.
ISIN is structured into three technical services and two administrative services, employing approximately 90 human resources, mostly technicians (approximately 60); its main technical functions include a dedicated inspection service, part of the three technical services, and two other services primarily dedicated to Nuclear Safety and Radioactive Waste Management and Radiation Protection, respectively.
