Summary
The production of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons can lead to the formation, within process components, of deposits containing naturally occurring radioactive substances. These natural radioactive substances that came from the reservoir tends to accumulate within certain equipment and components of the extraction, processing and transportation of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbon facilities.
Considering as specific example the Eni SpA experience, the purpose of the presentation is to provide a general overview of the aspects related to the presence of NORM/TENORM in Oil&Gas plants and its management to ensure the protection of workers and the environment from the ionizing radiations.
