Summary
A collaboration between Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the U.S. Department of Energy, and QSA Global successfully resumed the production of high-specific-activity Iridium-192, a critical isotope for gamma radiography in the oil and gas industry, after more than 20 years. This effort involved designing and qualifying new irradiation targets, performing safety and transport analyses, and establishing reliable post-irradiation handling and delivery processes.
