Neutron star gravitational waves emission: fundamental physics and searches
Francesca Attadio
18:15 - 18:35
My presentation will focus on neutron stars (NSs) and their gravitational wave (GW) emission as a tool to investigate them. In particular, I will focus on GWs emitted by isolated spinning NSs. This kind of signal has not been detected yet, and its detection can improve our understanding of how matter behaves in such extreme conditions (NS core reaches densities higher than the nuclear density). I will give an overview of the different kinds of searches, and I will introduce a new approach using machine learning techniques.

Simple model for pentaquarks

18:45 - 19:05
Exotic hadrons don't have the same quark content as ordinary hadrons: Exotic baryons have more than the three quarks of ordinary baryons, while exotic mesons don't have one quark and one antiquark like common mesons. Exotic hadrons provide an intriguing field of study for new ideas and innovative techniques to address the confinement problem in QCD. In this presentation, I will analyze a model to phenomenologically describe the six pentaquarks that have been observed since 2019 by the LHCb collaboration.
