Entanglement and quantum criticality

A brief introduction to the concepts of quantum entanglement and quantum criticality will be given. We will then focus on the role played by entanglement in the physics of many-body systems. In particular, we will mention the area law and its violation in 1D at criticality, as well as the universal properties exhibited by entanglement in this case. A novel contribution will be finally mentioned: the computation of entanglement of critical excitations.
