The aim of MDDMv is to bring together astroparticle theorists who have been making the scientific case for mineral detection and experimentalists who have initiated preliminary studies of their feasibility. As these searches incorporate various aspects of geology, materials science and astroparticle physics, the participants in MDDMv are a diverse group with expertise encompassing these fields. The meeting will mostly consist of informal talks and discussion sessions.

Practical Information
Travel: The meeting will take place at the Institute for Fundamental Physics of the Universe (IFPU) which is located in the Miramare campus at Via Beirut 2, Trieste, Italy. For information on how to reach IFPU, see here and here.
Most international travellers will fly into Venice Marco Polo (VCE) and then take a train to Trieste. Trieste has a more conveniently located airport (TRS), but it is quite small and connections to get there tend to be rather expensive.
After landing at either airport, taking a train (https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html) is typically the most convenient way to get to Trieste. From VCE you first need to take a shuttle/cab to the Venezia Mestre train station, while Trieste airport has it's own train stop.
Finally, to get from the Trieste train station to the Mirimare campus where the IFPU and ICTP are located, you can either take the number 6 bus from the train station or take a cab. Here is a map of the Mirimare campus showing the 'former SISSA building' (now the IFPU where the workshop takes place) and the Adriatico guesthouse (where most participants will be staying).
Rooms: The specific room and information on how to get there will be posted on this website closer to the start date. Desk space and common rooms will be available to the participants throughout the meeting.
