Darkside Material Meeting (L. Luzzi) Minutes - Status of the assay campaign 1. Chris: they started assay of solder paste sample, starting with the 1-e type, then tehy will continue with the type 4; samples are pretty clean; 2. Tomasz received pcb board samples from Iza and they will start screen with ICPMS next week. Let’s start with the standard one (made with standard procedure, the ones not foreseen for darkside and not assayed in the past); 3. No news about boards coming from uk? Let’s talk offline about this; 4. Chip quick solder paste sample still under screening at LSC; 5. Current status of the acrylic veto: abou gd loaded acrylic we have two options for Gd compound; production line by italian company is ok, just little U contamination in the production, but ok; about chinese compound they don’t have samples so the plan is to make the decision without have screened chinese material. It is a decision to make inside the collaboration: 5.1. About surfactant, new samples produced with purified surfactant with a factor 10 less of potassium and this is a very good result; 5.2. The raw material (Gd and acrylic) already screened and so the only thing is to optimize the control of getting impurities during production. - ESR foil: let’s discuss it offline about technical aspects regarding the measurement and reduction of surface contamination of this material; the first thing and the easiest one to do is to dissolve ESR and get measurement of Polonium. - Rn and Surface contamination paper : Skeleton Grzegorz showed a presentation about this. Let’s make a summary of the R&D activities and summarize also more in details things discussed during the past material weekly meetings. - Status of papers / internal notes 1. Igor is working about new version of his internal note; 2. Daria is working about checking again the (gamma,n) background and the new numbers related with the new geometry; 3. Maxim: Added information and some item to be finalized but at the moment just have general picture. - Do we have updates on material composition? Is there something to be considered, about next assays, in terms of gammas and alpha background? Let’s discuss it offline.
