The Design and Testing of the new TRIUMF Large Gap 200-300KV Wien Filters

TRIUMF is building two new surface 29MeV/c surface muon beam lines each with a pair of achromatic 1.5m Wien filters capable of rotating the muon polarization by 90O during passage. This "Spin Rotation" capability requires devices at +/- 170 and +/- 255KV for the electrode spacing of 8 and 12 cm respectively. This presentation will discuss the design criteria, simulations and testing experience (+/-255KV) of these devices.
