Description

In recent decades much attention has been given to women’s underrepresentation in science and engineering (SE), particularly in positions of leadership.

In this talk dominant theories about women's underrepresentation in SE are reviewed, in light of evidence. New theories are then presented together with examples of new research questions and findings. The talk concludes with a discussion of the implications of the research evidence in terms of women’s interest and participation in SE education and professions, and women’s advancement to SE leadership roles.
