Description
The determination of the W-boson mass is a slowly evolving field, with new results only every few years. The available measurements reflect the theoretical state of the art at the time of their preparation; at hadron colliders, determining factors are the theoretical description of the W boson production and decay, and the modelling of the proton structure. We present the status of the ongoing W mass averaging project, which aims at combining Tevatron and LHC results. We will present our plans, the combination procedure, and the influence of theoretical progress in recent years.
