The Low Level Measurement Techniques Working Group of the International Committee for Radionuclide Metrology (ICRM) provides a platform for all ICRM members interested in the measurement of low levels of radioactivity in whatever area, but with a particular emphasis on environmental measurements. The Working Group facilitates the opportunity for radionuclide metrologists and scientists to make low-level measurements to meet and to discuss common problems and to disseminate information by organising conferences and workshops on either general or specific matters of interest. The general conferences on Low Level Radioactivity Measurement Techniques are OPEN to all specialists in the radionuclide metrology field. They are held every four years and have developed into a successful instrument of communication among researchers and metrologists, truly encouraging international cooperation.
Papers will be selected using a peer-review process for the ICRM-LLRMT 2022 Special Issue on the following fields:
• Applications
• Fundamental Physics
• Low level γ-ray spectrometry
• Noble gases
• Non-radiometric techniques
• Quality and Intercomparisons
• Radiochemistry
• Techniques for low-level α-particle, β-particle and γ-ray measurements
In addition, we also plan three thematic sessions:
• Thematic session 1 - Studies of climate change
• Thematic session 2 - Emergency preparedness
• Thematic session 3 - Future ISO/CEN/IEC standards
Abstracts should be submitted through this website to the conference organisers within 31 January 2022. The template can be downloaded here.
These abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and authors will be notified whether or not their abstracts have been accepted within 28 February 2022.
The proceedings of the conference will be published in Applied Radiation and Isotopes. The manuscripts, exclusively in English, will have to comply with the guidelines of the journal, which will be sent to the authors together with the information on the acceptance of the work. The acceptance of work for presentation at the conference does not imply its publication in this journal. The publication of manuscripts will be subject to the result of a strict refereeing procedure.
At least one of the authors is to be expected to register at the conference if the contribution will be accepted. If no author will be present the contribution will have to be canceled.
For the manuscript to be considered for acceptance in Applied Radiation and Isotopes, at least one author must be present at the conference and present the paper as oral or poster.
Preliminary works of interest for the ICRM community could be accepted just for presentation as a poster without publication.
