Sar WorS 2021 Sardinian Workshop on Spin

Europe/Rome
Umberto D'Alesio (CA)
Description

A Workshop on the 3D structure of the nucleon: quark and gluon TMDs from SIDIS, pp collisions, e+e- annihilation processes and related quarkonium production.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sar WorS 2021 is the second edition of the Sardinian Workshop on Spin Studies and related issues, following the previous one in 2019, held in Cagliari as well.

The main objective of the workshop is to bring together, in a lively and informal environment, experts in the study of Transverse Momentum Dependent parton distributions and fragmentation functions (TMDs), to discuss the state of the art and provide new ideas and perspectives in the field, both on the theory and the experimental side. Young researchers will also have the unique opportunity to present their own work and projects in a highly stimulating context.

The workshop will focus on open issues and new tools to investigate the 3D structure of the nucleon as well as the fragmentation mechanism within a TMD approach.

All presentations will serve as starting point for a more in-depth common discussion on the main topics of the workshop and for a fruitful and educated brain storming among participants.

The venue is Hotel Regina Margherita (Cagliari, https://www.hotelreginamargherita.com/ ) and the meeting, from Monday morning to Wednesday around 4 pm, is expected to be in-person. The number of participants is limited to about 25, and the number of presentations, upon invitation only, to around 20. Due to pandemic restrictions, it will be possible to attend it also remotely. Zoom link and further details will be provided to the registered participants.

The workshop is supported and sponsored by European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 824093 (STRONG 2020), European Commission through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action "SQuHadron"  under grant agreement ID: 795475, Fondazione Sardegna under the project "Proton tomography at the LHCโ€, project number F72F20000220007 (University of Cagliari), University and INFN Cagliari.
