ABSTRACT

Theoretical models related to dark matter have proposed that there are long range forces mediated by new gauge bosons with masses in the range MeV to GeV and very weak coupling to ordinary matter. The experimental constraints on the existence of these new gauge bosons are quite weak. I will describe a program of collider and fixed-target experiments that can search for these bosons throughout a large parameter space that includes the parameter regions of interest for dark matter. These experiments can be carried out at currently operating GeV-energy accelerators using well-established detector technologies.
