ET Sardinia - Site Characterisation Workshop

Description

Due to its favourable features and the surrounding low-noise environment, the area of the Sos Enattos former mine in Sardinia has been identified as one of the most promising candidate sites for the Einstein Telescope (ET), the third generation Gravitational Wave detector in Europe.

From 2019 a long-term observation campaign started with the goal of characterising the seismic noise of the site, as well as other environmental potential sources of noise, in particular in the low frequency band.

This workshop aims to give an update on the status and results of this characterisation campaign, and to discuss the perspectives and new possible collaborations within this activity.
