Description
Quantum gravity is perhaps one of the most difficult problems in modern physics. In this talk, I will give an overview of the quantum gravity problem, alongside with some historical advances, and discuss two distinct and somewhat conservative approaches to the quantization of the gravitational field: quadratic gravity (proven to be renormalizable by Stelle) and the effective field theory of general relativity (non-renormalizable, but yet predictive).
