Description
The strong CP problem is a naturalness problem in the Standard Model which seems to require a fine tuning between parameters of seemingly unrelated sectors of the theory. We describe how the problem arises through the anomalous non conservation of the axial current and the possible solution of the axion field; a summary is given of the cosmological implications of such a model and its use in solving the dark matter problem. We also briefly review the experimental research in this sector.
