Scientific Program

The objective of LODES is to carry out a study and deliver a report on enablers, obstacles, policies and recommendations for the setup of a cross-country federation of standard-based, multi-domain Linked Open Data repositories leveraging as well as addressing the concept of Open Science. This study is meant to be the natural continuation/evolution of those that led to documents [1] and [2] and it is fully coherent with OECD [3] and GSF [4] [5] missions.

During the 38th OECD-GSF Meeting in Paris the proposal of a study on interoperability of Open Data platforms presented by Italy (INFN, CNR, INAF) [6] positively received and considered worthy of further developments.

The GSF asked proponents to write a comprehensive Scoping Paper including the existent competences, developments and contributions on all the related initiatives as CODATA, RDA, EOSC, etc. The one-day LODES workshop has the objective to build a comprehensive reference framework for the development of this initiative.
