Description
In this talk I will present a general overview of recent experimental and theoretical developments concerning the superfluid behavior of ultracold atomic gases. The transport properties and the propagation of sound, the nature of quantized vortices and the absence of viscosity will be explicitly discussed. Intriguing questions concern the connection between superfluidity and the phenomenon of Bose-Einstein Condensation and the role of dimensionality. The new perspectives opened by the availability of artificial magnetic fields will be also discussed.
