Description

Overview

We are pleased to announce that the International Workshop on Multi facets of Eos and Clustering IWM-EC 2018 will be held in Catania, Italy, from 22nd to 25th May 2018. The workshop is supported by the CHIMERA and INDRA Collaborations.
The IWM-EC 2018 will address open questions in the domain of nuclear dynamics and thermodynamics with a renewed special emphasis of clustering phenomena and their implications on nuclear dynamics and structure.
The scientific program will have dedicated sessions to outline recent progress on both experimental and theoretical aspects of the following topics:

  • Dynamics and structure in heavy-ion collisions with stable and radioactive beams
  • Correlations and clustering phenomena
  • Isospin effects in nuclear reactions
  • Exploring nuclear Equation of State
  • Current trends for fission
  • New experimental tools and detection techniques

The format of the workshop includes  invited overview talks, oral contributed presentations and posters. PhD students and postdocs are strongly encouraged to participate.
The local organization of the workshop is supported by the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare - Sezione di Catania e Laboratori Nazionali del Sud and by University of Catania - Dipartimento di Fisica e Astronomia.
