From the museum you can access the terrace of the Palazzo del Seminario dei Chierici and Porta Uzeda, where you can admire two wonderful views. On one side the Duomo square, with the Elephant Fountain (which is the symbol of the city), Via Etnea with Mount Etna in the background. On the other side: the walls of Charles V, the port of Catania with the “Archi della Marina” and lastly the medieval “Castello Ursino”.
Also from the museum you can access the beautiful complex of the underground “Terme Achelliane” – a former roman thermal bath – and make a journey into the bowels of the city, where the river Amenano flows on the surface in the nearby Amenano Fountain.
The location will permit an easy access to the major archaeological attractions of the city, a real baroque gem, between the two ancient cities of Syracuse and Taormina. Most of the old city of Catania is included by UNESCO in the World Cultural Heritage list: the “Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto (South-Eastern Sicily)”.

Shougun Viaggi, the official Travel Agent for the Conference, has a limited number of reduced-rate hotel rooms.
The hotels proposed are located close to the Diocesan Museum and they can be easily reached from the Catania "V. Bellini" airport. A regular public bus service called “ALIBUS” operated by AMT connects with the Catania downtown at € 4 (one way). The bus stop “STESICORO” is the one closer to Diocesan Museum (600 m) and to the hotels. Since September is still high season for vacations in Sicily, Hotel applications should be submitted not later than July 30th. Hotel reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card and they will be confirmed only if all details are fully supplied to Shougun Viaggi. Credit Card will be processed only in case of cancellation or no-show.
For cancellations received in writing before the arrival date one night penalty will be charged; no-shows will be subject to 100% penalty.
In case of cancellation, a written notification should be sent to the Shougun travel Agency (a.romeo@shougun.it) and to the ECRIS 2018 organizers.
