TORUS is a project funded by the European Union in the framework of Erasmus+ Capacity Building. This program funds “transnational partnerships between educational institutions and organizations, training and youth programs in order, promoting cooperation and development”. TORUS is funded for 3 years, gathered around the University of Toulouse 2 Jean Jaures, the International School of Information Processing Sciences (EISTI, Pau campus), University of Ferrara in Italy, University Brussels Vrije in Belgium, Vietnam National University in Hanoi, the Nong Lam University of Ho Chi Minh and two Thailand institutions: Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Pathumthani and Walailak University in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The main goal of the project is to create synergies between environmental science and cloud computing of massive data (Big Data) both in the preparation of foundations for the emergence of future coupled training programs for research projects in partnership with private companies. This is to promote multidisciplinary action and innovative interdisciplinary - cloud computing- in the context of higher education and research dedicated to major contemporary environmental issues.

The second workshop of TORUS in Ferrara - Italy includes the following scientific sessions:
  • Big Data
  • Cloud Computing
  • Computing Infrastructure and Technologies
  • Environmental Science
  • Geoscience
  • Multivariate Analysis
  • Semantic Data
  • Sensitivity and Risk Analysis of computing models
  • Stream-Data with Spark
