Description
In this talk we will explore the existence of static solutions in scalar tensor theories which are of second order. Starting from Horndeski theory, we will discuss recent no-go theorems and explore the existing solutions. Extending the analysis in the multi-scalar case we will demonstrate a particular set-up where asymptotically flat solutions satisfy the full set of field equations. We will also discuss the higher dimensional black hole solutions with non-trivial derivative couplings of the Lovelock type.
