The Higgs boson at LHC and the implications of the eventual discovery on the physics of fundamental interactions. New discoveries and precision measurements will provide a powerful tool for testing the Standard Model (SM) and uncovering evidence for new physics. Progress in particle physics phenomenology requires strong communication and coherent collaboration between different groups with different expertise. This fundamental knowledge may have far-reaching consequences for technology development in the 21st century in much the same way as the development of quantum mechanics influenced everyday life in the 20th century.
